Operations Director

The Role
The Operations Director will be responsible for the entire Operations at the Märsta site. This includes driving change, promoting teamwork, adapting the organization in accordance with market and customer expectations and managing complexity as well as mobilizing resources, communicating and sharing resources, influencing efficiency and actions.

The Operations Director will be a role model for the Beckers values and inspire and lead the team towards Beckers targets and vision.

The Operations department includes Production, EHS, Supply Chain, Operations Excellence and Engineering & Maintenance and consists of approximately 120 employees. The position is based at the manufacturing facility in Märsta, north of Stockholm, and will report to the SVP Coil Coatings North Europe/North America; Johan Sandström, with a dotted line to the VP Operations Europe; Laurent Legendre.

Main tasks include, but are not be limited to:

• Planning, organizing and managing the site activities including EHS, operations (production, process, quality, maintenance) and supply chain.
• Develop and implement improvements in production methods, setting standards and procedures to ensure effective use of resources.
• Assess performance indicators and take appropriate actions to ensure quality, delivery (OTD), inventory (DOI) and that cost goals of manufacturing operations are met (5S, Lean
Systems, TPS)
• Effective implementation of all Supply Chain activities, particularly in the materials management and logistics.
• Foster a culture of safety.
• Drive changes by utilizing quality and continuous improvement processes and provide an environment that fosters development and accountability of people.
• Define and provide Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), analyze deviations, communicate and implement corrective and/or preventive action plans.
• Define a capital expenses plan and ensure regular follow-up.
• Manage the Operations cost according to targets.
• Benchmark best practise with other manufacturing sites within the group.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Solid experience of Operations Management with knowledge and skills in finance, supply chain, EHS and ERP-system.
• Fluency in English.
• Good communication skills (verbal, written) to be able to represent Beckers internally and externally.
• Fundamental knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing tools (i.e. LEAN, Six Sigma).
• Strong functional operational competence and a track record of improving performance.
• Experience from driving continuous improvement whilst maintaining or exceeding financial objectives.
