The Role

The Investment Associate/Investment Manager will work in teams, normally together with a Director and a Partner. They will follow the investment all the way from idea to a final negotiated buy, a process which takes 3 to 6 months. Key tasks are doing due diligence; analysing the market, financial statements, insurance, legal and environmental data. Negotiating terms with banks and sellers are also common tasks. The Investment Professionals lead several external company advisers and regularly report to the Partner-group. More senior Investment Managers represent Nordic Capital on company boards. Business trips are common. The Investment Professional works with top-level management from leading companies in different industries and therefore needs to be truly self-dependent and have a strong drive. The ability to negotiate and power to act is crucial for succeeding. The ability to listen carefully, learn and yet take independent decisions most of the time is important to succeed in the job. Initiative and creativity are key characteristics of the role.

Experience and background

An Investment Manager has typically 3-6 years job experience and an Investment Associate has around 1-3 years job experience from
- Investment Banking or a
- PE Company or
- Management Consulting or as
- Management Trainee from a global industrial company

- Experience from M&A or finance is a plus
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Economics and/or Engineering from top schools
- Excellent academic records
