Chief Commercial Officer Consumer Loans

On behalf of Resurs Bank, WES is looking for a driven business and sales-oriented leader with a background from the loan and credit market who, with a distinct strategic and analytical mindset, can lead and develop the Nordic consumer loan product offering and organization into the future where the business and the consumer are in focus.

Background and current situation

The financial sector is facing major changes. New players in the form of niche finance companies and fintech players are emerging and taking market shares from the major banks and challenging the way they respond to and manage customers. The industry is becoming increasingly digital and international. Customers are doing more and more errands via mobile phone. The main competitors are the niche banks such as Norwegian, Ikano, Nordax and TF bank but also loan brokers such as Lendo and Zmarta.

Resurs is a dynamic company in constant growth and is characterized by entrepreneurship. The goal is not to become, or act as a traditional bank, but rather to be regarded as a trading company in the financial sector.

In 2020 Resurs started on a transformation journey to remain competitive in a constantly changing world and technological development that is moving at a faster pace than ever. Resurs agenda is ambitious and is about maintaining relevance and win in the market – in the product offering, in the meeting with customers and partners, and as a brand in general.


You are responsible for a team of 48 people, consisting of country consumer loan responsible in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland, a team working with product improvements and a trade marketing team.

Overall assignment

As Chief Commercial Officer Consumer Loans you have a key position and is part of the group management team. You report to the CEO Nils Carlsson. Consumer Loans is from a loan book perspective the biggest of the three business areas with a loan book of 18 billion SEK.

It is essential within the assignment to continue to develop and transform Consumer loans into the future by optimising the parameters of price, brand, speed, risk, and sustainability to gain a higher market share and grow the segment.

Your overall responsibility besides leading and driving your business segment is to be an active and business focused member in the group management team and contribute to the company’s growth and transformation.

Main Responsibility

You have a Nordic responsibility for the largest business segment which is currently organised by country. You need to assess and optimise both the organisation structure and the product offering in a more and more digital and competitive market.

From a consumer perspective Resurs unique selling points and offering needs to be packaged in a clear and distinct way and always with a responsible and sustainable credit in mind. When updating the product offering you need to evaluate and consider all eventual effects of future regulatory updates.

Background and Experience

Resurs is looking for a senior business and sales-oriented executive with a strong track record from a fintech company in growth.

- A solid understanding and experience of the loan and credit market.

- Business and sales-oriented with experience of driving change and growth.

- Strategically and analytically strong but at the same time operational.

- Growth mind-set

- Experienced in leading a cross region organisation in portfolio companies.

- Ability to build relationships, trust, and confidence towards the management team and within the rest of the bank.

- Development and solution-oriented implementer who questions and improves existing working methods, products, and strategies.

- Relevant academic degree and fluency in English.
